I enjoy a great working relationship with many of the top studios across the UK. My recording process ranges from fixing groups of musicians for performing and recording pre written scores, to writing and layering up violin and viola lines as a solo violin/violist. Live recording sessions and performances in Manchester have included working with prominent local artists such as Badly Drawn Boy, Cherry Ghost and Stuart Mccallum. I regularly work with professional arranger and pianist Oliver Hamilton.

I have recorded backing strings for a wide range of pop artists including Emelie Sandie, Paloma Faith, Gabrielle, Lily Allen, Sugababes, The Brand New Heavies, DJ Spooney, Hamzaa, So Solid Crew, Raleigh Ritchie and Race the Horizon.

As a leader I have performed live and recorded on various occasions for Sony Music, BBC, ITV for tv/film and radio. I previously graduated with honours and postgraduate degrees in classical violin performance at The Royal Northen College of Music under the tuition of leader of the BBC Philharmonic Yuri Torchinski.

TV and Live Performances

Television credits include on stage at the Royal Variety Show with Lady Gaga, ITV Victoria, on stage with Il Divo, Peaky Blinders series 7, Gentleman Jack and various performances for Songs of Praise. I was recently lead violinist performing West End musical hits live on BBC's The National Lottery's Big Night Out.

I have previously enjoyed working closely with West End Musical Directors such as Nigel Lilly and John Ranger on musical theatre shows including My Fair Lady and Sondheim's Company.

Folk and Traditional Music

Originally from the small fishing town Lossiemouth in the North East of Scotland I grew up in a home constantly surrounded by traditional music. As a young musician I often travelled to Celtic festivals with fiddle groups such as the Speyside Fiddlers. I am a previous winner of the prestigious Glenfiddich Fiddle Championships and have performed as guest solo violinist at the Shetland Fiddle and Accordion Festival. I have had the privilege of adjudicating traditional music festivals in Scotland as far north as Wick and Thurso in the Highlands. I am currently a member of the ceilidh band Triple Scotch performing across the UK and Europe with a busy schedule. As a recording session musician I often collaborate with singers and other artists either writing or improvising traditional fiddle lines.
